The Child Psychiatry Clinic programme was successfully conducted on 31st December 2025 at Rajah Thanal Day Care Centre. The event aimed to create awareness about child mental health, with a special focus on behavioural therapy and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), along with the formal inauguration of the clinic.
The programme began at 11:30 AM and was hosted by Ms. Anagha Joju, MSW Trainee, who welcomed the gathering. The programme commenced with a prayer rendered by Thanal inmates Moideensha and Abishek. The programme was attended by children with ADHD and their parents, with a total of three children participating. Following the prayer, Ms. Arathy Padmakumar, Psychology Trainee, delivered a brief class session explaining the concept of Behavioural Therapy. Highlighted its meaning, importance, and basic procedures, with emphasis on its application in child psychiatry and behavioural management.
An awareness class was then conducted by Mrs. Princy Rijo, Social Worker, focusing on ADHD. The session provided detailed psychoeducation to parents, covering symptoms, causes, management strategies, and the importance of early intervention and parental involvement.
The felicitation ceremony was conducted by Mr. K Anilkumar Clinical Psychologist, Dr. Anjukrishna Psychiatrist, Dr. N Pfizer Psychiatrist. They shared their valuable insights and extended their support and encouragement for the newly initiated Child Psychiatry Clinic.
The programme concluded with the lamp lighting ceremony. The lamp was lit by Dr. N Pfizer, Dr. Anjukrishna G, Mr. K Anilkumar, Mrs. Princy Rijo and Ms. Arathy Padmakumar.
