
The 25th Anniversary of Thanal Day Care Centre, functioning under Rajah Rehabilitation Centre, was celebrated on 5th February 2026 at the centre premises. The programme began at 9:30 AM with a prayer, creating a calm and meaningful atmosphere for the gathering. Dr. Anju Krishna, Consultant Psychiatrist, RCMT, delivered the welcome speech and warmly greeted the dignitaries, staff, beneficiaries and caregivers. Dr. N. Pfizer, Consultant Psychiatrist, RCMT, delivered the introductory remarks and reflected on the 25-year journey of Thanal and its role in psychosocial rehabilitation and community mental health care.
The formal inauguration was marked by the traditional lighting of the ceremonial lamp by Managing Trustee Mr. A. Abdul Haseeb along with Managing Trustees Mr. Abdul Rafeeq Abdul Raqeeb and Mr. Abdul Nafi, and also by Mr. Anil Kumar, Consultant Psychologist, Dr. Anju Krishna and Dr. N. Pfizer. Their presence symbolized the continued support and commitment of the management and professionals towards the service and growth of the institution.


Following the inauguration, a special address was delivered by Mr. Sivadas, President, Manorama Press Club, Chavakkad, who appreciated the dedicated service of the institution and emphasized the importance of community awareness and social acceptance in mental health rehabilitation. As a token of heartfelt gratitude for his dedicated service and valuable contributions to Thanal Day Care Centre, a memento was presented to Dr. N. Pfizer by the management.
Felicitations were offered acknowledging the contributions of Mrs. Manju, Nursing Principal, Rajah School of Nursing; Dr. Gracy Zachariah, Senior RMO, RCMT; Mr. Renjith, Sreyas Family Caregiver Group Member; Ms. Aparna Francis, Social Worker, RRC; and Mrs. Princy Rijo, Social Worker, RRC. Appreciation messages were also conveyed by Dr. Mohandas, Dr. Praveenlal, Dr. Radhakrishnan and Dr. Murali Thyloth, who shared their wishes and appreciation for the dedicated rehabilitation services provided by Thanal.

The beneficiaries of Thanal Day Care Centre presented cultural programmes showcasing their talents and confidence, reflecting the therapeutic benefits of structured rehabilitation activities and social participation. The programme concluded with the vote of thanks delivered by Mrs. Princy Rijo, expressing gratitude to the management, professionals, caregivers, beneficiaries and well-wishers for their continuous support throughout the 25-year journey of Thanal Day Care Centre.
The celebration served as a moment of remembrance, appreciation and renewed commitment towards providing holistic psychiatric rehabilitation services and strengthening community-based mental health care in the years to come.
