Every year on June 26th, the International Day against Drug abuse and Illicit Trafficking, also known as world Drug Day is celebrated to promote global efforts in eliminating Drug abuse.
The theme of this year is “People first: Stop stigma and discrimination, Strengthen Prevention”. 🙏 The World Drug abuse day was held on June 26, 1987 The United Nations General Assembly decided to observe June 26 as International Day against Drug abuse to prevent someone from turning to dangerous substances.
On this day Rajah Rehabilitation Centre (RRC) Chavakkad, Thrissur organized a Public awareness program on Anti-Drug abuse day.
This ceremony was held to create awareness among people on drug abuse. This programme includes Elocution, Essay Writing and College Making Competition on the topic “Drug abuse” prizes were distributed on the official meeting.
This ceremony started by the Welcome Speech of Dr. N. Pfizer ( Psychiatrist, RCMT). Presidential address by Mr. Sivadas KC ( Press Club President, Chavakkad). Inauguration was done by Dr. R.V Damodharan ( Medical Superintendent, RCMT). Key note address was delivered by Dr. Anju Krishna ( Consultant Psychiatrist, RCMT) Mrs. Saji Sushyn( Vice Principal, Rajah Nursing School ) Mrs. Kavitha (Nursing Superintendent, RCMT ) Mr. Shambu Anil ( Clinical Psychologist, RCMT ) felicitated on the occasion.
Prizes were distributed to winners who participated in Collage Making, Elocution and Essay Writing by Mr. Sivadasan ( Press Club President ) and Mr. Felvin ( Hospital Administrator, RCMT ). Contestants gave feedback of the event and Vote of Thanks was delivered by Mrs. Princy T T.
