KUDUMBAYOGAM REPORT – JULY 2019
Thanal,our Sheltered workshop Organized the 132nd Shreyas Family Carers Support meeting (Kudumbayogam) on 17/07/19.The main agenda of this Kudumbayogam was class by Legal Aid Service Committee,Chavakkad.
The meeting started with the welcome note by Miss.christy (PSW), followed by Brief report on Legal Aid Clinic at RRC by Mrs.Princy Rijo (PSW)
Honourable Sub Judge and Chairman of Taluk Legal Service Committee Adv.Aaj Sudharsan was the chief guest for the function.She emphasized the need for Psychosociial rehabilitation facilities for the differentially abled in the community.She also appreciated the activities going on at Thanal and promised us her valuable presence and help to the mentally ill, legally if needed. Mr.Krishna Kumar(MUNSIFF,Chavakkad) also facilitated the function deliberating on the functions of Kerala legal service authorities.He stated that Kelsa provides free and competent legal services to the weaker sections of the society to ensure that opportunities fro securing justice are not denied to any citizen by reason of economic or other disabilities
. The Sub Judge and Munsiff donated colouring books and crayons to service beneficiaries.
Adv.Jijo Jacob ( Bar asspociation Chavakkad) delivered awareness class on “LEGAL RIGHTS OF MENTALLY ILL PEOPLE” for caregivers. He mainly highlighted on the importance of Disability Certificate, Legal guardianship Act and various available Scholarships for mentally ill. More information about Person with Disability Act(PWDA), National Trust Act and Mental Health Care Act 2017 was delivered. The meeting was followed by active discussion about legal issues of the caregivers.
Social worker Mrs.Princy Rijo gave a brief report about Job club and work site trial in progress. Job club Volunteers had a short discussion about the Clients who were shorted listed as per their CV and opinion from respective para vocational instructor and Social workers. Concern from the parents and they involvement was very well briefed out.
Adv. Aaj Sudharsan issued badges to Clients already on work trial.
Adv .Jijo Jacob issued mementos to best performing Beneficiaries group of the month (Jamanthi).
Executive committee meeting of Shreyas was held after the general body meeting. Shreyas Treasurer Mrs.Lilly read out the Income and Expenditure of the current year.
A very positive and appreciable response and feedback was there from Shreyas members.Almost 100 members participated in the meeting.
Refreshments were served after the meeting.
