KUDUMBAYOGAM REPORT – MARCH 2019

Thanal,our Sheltered workshop Organized the Shreyas Family Carers Support meeting (Kudumbayogam) on 14/03/19.The main agenda of this Kudumbayogam was care giver burden.

The meeting started with the welcome note by psychiatric social worker Ms.Anju followed by presidential address by our Dr.N.Pfizer.He mainly highlighted on the activities of Thanal Sheltered workshop and also issues related to Care givers.

After the formal inaugural session, the Social workers delivered awareness class for care givers and the topics covered were

v Ms.Anju – the role of care giver,importance of Rehabilitation and care giver burden.

v Ms.Christy class – Resilience and how to improve Resilience of care giver.

v Mrs.Princy –Disability Certificate, pensions,scholarship,insurance,etc.,

The meeting was followed by active discussion.A screening questionnaire was distributed to the care givers to be filled up which had a very positive impact as there were almost 41 members who participated in this programme.

The session ended with a talk on stress management techniques for care givers by Mrs.Kavitha, clinical psychologist.

Shreyas Govering Body members Mr.Viswanathan,Mrs.Annie,Mr.Achuthan Nair,Mrs.Preetha and Mrs.Reshmi Sushakumar facilitated the meeting.
