Family Caregivers Monthly Meet 2026 was conducted on 30 July 2026 from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM at Thanal Day Care Centre, Muthuvattoor, Chavakkad. The meeting was organised to provide awareness and support to family caregivers and to strengthen their role in the care and rehabilitation of their family members.
The programme began with a prayer by the inmates of Thanal Day Care Centre, followed by the welcome speech by Mrs. Mary, Shreyas member. The Shreyas report was then read by Ms. Aparna, Social Worker, followed by the introductory remarks by Dr. Pfizer, who highlighted the importance of family support and active involvement in the treatment and rehabilitation process.
The main sessions were conducted by Psychology and Social Work trainees. Nusaiba presented the session on Schizophrenia, Daya handled the session on Bipolar Affective Disorder (BPAD), and Sneha presented the session on Depression. The sessions provided caregivers with basic awareness about these conditions, their common symptoms, and the importance of treatment, follow-up, and family support.
Following the main sessions, a felicitation session was conducted by Dr. Anju Krishna, Psychiatrist; Thanal Supervisors Ms. Haseena, Ms. Sandra, and Ms. Sumaiyya; Behaviour Therapist Ms. Arathy; and Social Worker Ms. Aparna. Their words of appreciation and encouragement added value to the programme and motivated the participants.
The programme concluded with the vote of thanks by Mr. Achuthakumar, Shreyas member, who expressed gratitude to all the dignitaries, trainees, caregivers, staff members, and participants for their valuable contributions to the successful conduct of the meeting.
Overall, the 140th Shreyas Kudumbayogam was an informative and meaningful gathering that provided caregivers with useful mental health awareness and strengthened their involvement in the care and rehabilitation of their family members.
